Born in Tishomingo, OK on July 9, 1947, Glenda was the youngest of 4 children born to the late Theron and Dorothy Franks. She grew up in Borger, TX where she graduated from Borger High School and attended Frank Phillips Jr College. She was a believer in Christ and was saved as a teenager. As a high school student at Borger High, she was getting a Coke with friends one night at the “Jet Drive-In”, and met the love of her life, Bill Lund.

In 1967, Bill was attending UT in Austin, TX. Glenda flew down on February 2nd to marry him, and so hey began their almost 51 years of marriage together. She worked for a few years as a secretary in the State Capital before they moved to South Carolina in 1969. They later made a home in upper New York State, and then Newark, Delaware. Once in Delaware, they began growing their family with 3 children: Stephen, John, & Cathy, and 1 dog named Fire. After 10 years in Delaware and away from their roots, they moved back to Texas in 1983 and settled down in Arlington, TX. They soon found a church home in Trinity Baptist Church where their love for God grew and they made many lifelong friendships.

Glenda loved her family and friends dearly. When she wasn’t hauling kids around to different activities, she enjoyed reading as well as writing custom poems for friends on special occasions. She was a loved member of the infamous Lunch Bunch which is a group of loving friends who grew together through their children’s school days and beyond. Glenda and Bill have 8 grandchildren whom they love with all their heart. Her battle with cancer began in 2012 and she never once stopped fighting. Always kind, selfless, hardworking, and loving, she will always be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, daughter and friend. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband Bill, her 3 children, Stephen and wife Valerie of Arlington, TX, John and wife Melanie of Sioux City, Iowa, Cathy and husband Brad Nailon of Arlington, TX, 8 grandchildren, brother Theron S. Franks Jr. of Fritch, TX, several nieces and nephews and many priceless friends.
