LIFE REFLECTIONS FOR THERESA JEAN FILLMORE

It was a glorious day on October 14, 1934, when a beautiful baby girl was born in Cameron, Texas, to Annie Hill & Nathaniel Cherry. She was named Theresa Jean.

Theresa accepted Christ at an early age. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the choir. Her favorite songs were “Precious Lord” & “Amazing Grace”.

She met then married Willis Curtis Fillmore in 1953. He preceded her in death 1968.

She lived a very full life, loving and caring for others.  She settled in a career as a Certified Nurse Aide until she became disabled in the early 1970s. Education was supremely important and she stressed that to her daughters. Her hobbies included reading books, working crossword puzzles and watching game shows. Jeopardy was her favorite.

Earthly life came to its end for Theresa on Friday, March 3, 2017. Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two granddaughters and one grandson.

Theresa leaves to cherish her memory: seven daughters, Wanda Smith (Mark), Louise Nurse, Donna Ellis, Phyllis Wingfield (Denny), Theressa Fillmore, Jacqueline Fillmore and Pavia Baldwin (Grant); one brother, J.C. Handy (Ruth), twenty grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
